Société industrielle d’acier du Bénin (SIAB) donated 5 million FCFA to the Hôpital de zone Djougou-Copargo-Ouaké on 16 October 2026. This financial contribution was formally presented to the leadership of the medical facility during a scheduled event. The contribution aims to provide financial support to the medical facility for its ongoing operations. Loïc Durand, directeur de l’établissement, expressed gratitude for the assistance provided by the organization.

"Ce don est le bienvenu pour le responsable de l’hôpital," stated Loïc Durand. He added that the donation serves as a significant morale boost for the medical staff. "Pour Loïc Durand, directeur de l’établissement, cet appui constitue un encouragement pour les équipes mobilisées auprès des femmes et des enfants." The administration of the hospital has acknowledged the importance of this external support in maintaining the quality of care provided to the local population.

Allocating Funds for Health

Management at Hôpital de zone Djougou-Copargo-Ouaké has designated 2.7 million FCFA of the SIAB donation to support a nutrition program. This initiative targets children between the ages of zero and two residing across 21 neighborhoods in Djougou. The program is designed to address specific nutritional requirements identified within this demographic group. By focusing resources on these 21 neighborhoods, the hospital intends to improve health outcomes for young children.

The remaining 2.3 million FCFA is earmarked for the renewal and expansion of the hospital’s IT infrastructure. These funds will facilitate the modernization of digital systems used by the facility to manage patient records and operational data. The upgrade of these systems is expected to improve the efficiency of administrative processes and data management within the hospital. This technological investment represents a strategic effort to enhance the hospital’s internal capabilities.

Historical data from the hospital indicates a high volume of activity at the facility. In 2025, the medical center recorded 5,249 births and handled more than 13,000 admissions. These figures reflect the consistent demand for medical services at the Hôpital de zone Djougou-Copargo-Ouaké. The facility continues to serve as a primary healthcare provider for the surrounding area, managing a significant flow of patients on a daily basis.
