The International Charity Organisation inaugurated two residential villages and several educational and service projects in Africa on 20 October 2026. Dr. Khaled Al Khaja, Secretary-General of the International Charity Organisation, said, "The projects reflect the organisation's commitment to sustainable humanitarian and development initiatives that go beyond immediate assistance to help communities overcome livelihood challenges, in line with the UAE's humanitarian approach." Addressing the expansion, Dr. Khaled Al Khaja expressed his appreciation to the philanthropists and donors for their contributions, which he said were vital to sustaining and expanding the organisation's humanitarian projects worldwide. These initiatives aim to support long-term community development across the continent.

New Residential Villages Established

The village established in the Republic of Benin comprises 100 houses. Alongside these residential units, the village includes a mosque, a Quran memorisation centre, a water well, a health centre, and classrooms. These facilities were designed to support the daily needs of the local population. The infrastructure in the Republic of Benin was constructed to ensure that residents have direct access to essential services, reflecting the organisation's integrated approach to community planning. By combining housing with educational and health facilities, the International Charity Organisation seeks to create self-sustaining environments.

A second village, located in the Republic of Senegal, comprises 50 houses. Similar to the project in the Republic of Benin, this development features a mosque, a Quran memorisation centre, a water well, a health centre, and classrooms to serve the residents. The inclusion of these facilities in the Republic of Senegal is intended to provide a full support system for the families moving into the new residential units. The water well serves as a critical resource for the village, while the health centre and classrooms are positioned to address the long-term well-being and educational needs of the community.

Dr. Khaled Al Khaja, Secretary-General of the International Charity Organisation, led the delegation that oversaw the inauguration of these sites. The delegation was led by Secretary-General Dr. Khaled Al Khaja, who traveled to both the Republic of Benin and the Republic of Senegal to conduct the formal opening ceremonies. During the opening ceremonies, he spoke on the broader objectives of the International Charity Organisation regarding its infrastructure projects in Africa. Dr. Khaled Al Khaja stated, "The organisation's vision is not limited to building homes and providing shelter, but extends to empowering people and creating a better future for them and their families."

Each facility is intended to provide essential services alongside the residential capacity, addressing both housing and community requirements in the selected areas. Each village includes a mosque, a Quran memorisation centre, a water well, a health centre, and classrooms. The completion of these 150 houses across the two nations marks a specific expansion of the organisation's physical infrastructure presence on the continent. The village in the Republic of Benin comprises 100 houses, while the village in the Republic of Senegal comprises 50 houses. These projects represent the latest efforts by the International Charity Organisation to stabilize living conditions for vulnerable populations. Through the careful selection of site amenities, the organisation ensures that the basic necessities of life are met for the beneficiaries residing in the newly constructed villages.
