Couleur Indigo presented its marine-inspired Apusomè collection on 24 October 2026 at Indigo Village near Lake Toho in Ouidah, Benin. The new collection features 16 distinct motifs drawing inspiration from marine life, such as fish, shells, octopuses, jellyfish, turtles, and corals. This presentation, held on 24 October 2026 at Indigo Village near Lake Toho in Ouidah, Benin, served as a showcase for the brand's latest creative evolution. The collection consists of 16 distinct motifs inspired by marine life, including fish, shells, octopuses, jellyfish, turtles, and corals, all integrated into the textile designs.
Nadia Adanlé, promotrice de Couleur Indigo, described the creative process behind the designs, specifically noting one called "Filimi," which translates to "Remember me."
This commitment to quality and prestige remains central to the operational philosophy of Couleur Indigo.
Her remarks noted the alignment between the brand’s artistic output and the national goals for cultural development.
Following the presentation of the Apusomè collection, the fifth edition of the Symposium of the African Indigo is scheduled for November 2026. Organizers have set the theme for the upcoming event as "Indigo and plural arts, performative dialogue and hybrid practices." This upcoming symposium aims to build upon the momentum generated by the launch of the Apusomè collection, fostering further dialogue around the role of indigo in contemporary artistic practices and its ongoing relevance within the cultural landscape of the region. The event will bring together various stakeholders to discuss the future of the industry and the preservation of traditional techniques.
